A little bit about Sarah
RVN DIP APHYS MIAAT
Sarah first qualified as a registered veterinary nurse back in 2013. Having always had a passion for all things animal it was inevitable that she would go on to make this her career. Sarah has worked primarily in small animal veterinary practice, and this is where her appetite for physiotherapy and rehabilitation was whetted. Sarah could see how beneficial physiotherapy could be for so many of the patients she cared for. A few years later in 2017 Sarah went on to graduate as an animal physiotherapist from The College of Animal Physiotherapy. Sarah now runs her own animal physiotherapy and pet services business catering for small animals and equines and covers Worcestershire, Warwickshire and the West Midlands. When not at work Sarah enjoys spending time with her dog Hector and horse Milli, along with baking all things yummy. Sarah is fully insured and can be found on the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons nurse register along with being a member of the International Association of Animal Therapists.

Testimonials
Sarah has been amazing with our 14-year-old Schnoodle who has had TPLO surgery. She has provided excellent treatment and an exercise plan for us to follow. Having Sarah’s support has given us confidence to support Jake with his recovery. Having treatment in our home is brilliant, as is the loan of equipment. He is making excellent progress, we highly recommend Sarah. H Perkins
Sarah is absolutely fantastic with all our dogs, but in particular Candy, who sees Sarah regularly for maintenance treatment. Candy has regular physiotherapy with Sarah to help her conditions, and general old age and this keeps Candy as comfortable as possible and on her feet longer than when she doesn’t have treatment. Sarah is so considerate and patient and we’ve seen improvements along the way with Candy who is no longer on pain relief medication just natural supplements and regular treatments with Sarah. Highly recommend! S Birkin
I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Sarah's services; she has given our nearly 11 year-old Yorkie, Honey, the best possible chance of recovery (after surgery for a ruptured cruciate) with her calm, patient, considered, expert approach to Honey's rehabilitation and physical therapy, and she has ensured that *we* know what to work on between her physiotherapy sessions, with a clear, easy-to-follow written plan, and full explanation each time. Honey has not always been the easiest dog to manage during physio sessions, but Sarah has been brilliant with her - patient and gentle, but firm - and she has already come on in leaps and bounds. Thank you, Sarah! J Seymour
Sarah has been absolutely amazing with our dog! He is only young and has issues with his back and Sarah spent the time to understand what the issues are, suggested things we can do at home to help and also helped with massage. Our dog loves Sarah too, he really enjoyed his session and looking forward to his future ones R Cox
Sarah was great with my pony - he had recently started showing signs of being uncomfortable in one of his hind legs. Sarah was able to see us fairly quickly and was very patient and thorough with Timmy; pinpointing the source of his discomfort in his leg, as well as some other spots, and providing ultrasound and massage to help him feel better, along with an action plan going forward. Very happy to have Sarah treat Timmy again and to recommend her to others V Sheers
I've known Sarah a long time and she's an exceptional Veterinary Nurse she came out to my home to clip both my dog's claws and sorted my puppy's anal gland issues! Not only was it lovely to see her but both my dogs were relaxed and happy to be treated at home (my elderly dog gets very stressed going to the vets) I highly recommend Sarah both as a physio and Veterinary Nurse, she's an absolute star! Sarah trimmed both of my dogs claws this evening at home. She was caring, professional and very patient (especially with my younger dog who can be rather mischievous). I would highly recommend her to others. Two happy dogs and one happy owner… thank you sarah K Williams
What is physiotherapy and how can it help our pets
Animal physiotherapy is a complimentary physical therapy which is carried out under veterinary referral. There are many conditions where physiotherapy can help our pets. For example, it can help to reduce pain and discomfort, increase strength and muscle mass, improve coordination and balance and help reduce the risk of injuries in the future. The most common areas for treatment are post surgery for orthopaedic and neurological conditions, degenerative conditions such as arthritis and to enhance performance in our working dogs and horses.
Physiotherapy can be delivered by manual techniques such as soft tissue massage and mobilisation, physiotherapeutic equipment for example ultrasound and TENS, along with rehabilitation and exercise plans. Below are just some of the conditions that can be helped by physiotherapy:
-
Sore/bruised muscles
-
Muscle spasm and tightness
-
Muscle atrophy
-
Lameness
-
Drop in performance
-
Sore and stiff backs
-
Hip and elbow dysplasia
-
Routine checks and maintenance
-
Ruptured tendons and ligaments of the legs and joints
-
Sacroiliac injury
-
Spondylosis
-
Cruciate ligament rupture
-
Intervertebral disc disease IVVD
-
Optimise repair of fractures both normal and non-union
-
Help to ease pain in arthritic and diseased joints and slow down further degeneration
-
Improving and maintaining range of movement and muscle tone
-
Assist wound repair to minimise scarring and proud flesh

The number of treatments required can vary and are affected by many factors such as reason for treatment, species, condition, age and weight, which is why we assess and treat all animals individually and tailor treatments according to their personal needs. Time is taken to ensure all animals are comfortable with the treatment sessions. The more relaxed they are, the better response we get.
